Old West Days

Old West Days and ElkFest are Jackson Hole’s tribute to our Western Heritage and Community Culture. It’s more than just a tribute though, it’s a time to celebrate it and experience it!

The festival kicks off the weekend of May 16th with ElkFest and the High Noon Chili Cook-off in downtown Jackson Hole.  The Best of the West Parade, Old West Brewfest, and Million Dollar Music Fest round out the festival on Memorial Day weekend.  The Mountain Man Rendezvous celebrates the rich history and tradition of the Rocky Mountain fur trade over the entire 10 days of the festival at the Teton County Fairgrounds.

Enjoy ales from breweries all over the Mountain West and sample bowls of chili made by high-end restaurants, as well as the Boy Scouts. And….vote for your favorites! Observe the Teton Powwow where indigenous knowledge keepers will share their rich culture, traditions, dance, and history. Tip your hats to Teton County Fair’s Rodeo Royalty in the The Best of the West Parade. Bid on elk antlers that were gathered by our very own boy scouts and more.

Elkfest

May 17, 2025

Every spring, thousands of elk wintering on the National Elk Refuge lose their antlers before they migrate to their summer range. The Boy Scouts assist the Refuge with harvesting the shed antlers and auction them to bidders from around the world who make furniture, wall decorations, jewelry and food products from them. This annual event, which includes the High Noon Chili Cook-Off and the Mountain Man Rendezvous kick-off, supports the National Elk Refuge with a large portion of auction proceeds going back to habitat enhancement projects on the Refuge.

Come see the world’s best collection of elk antler and bid in the world famous Elkfest Elk Antler Auction. Private antler, paddles, horns, and more for sale on the streets surrounding Town Square from 8am – 3pm. The world-famous Elk Antler Auction open for registration at 8am and the auction begins at 10am.

Million Dollar Music Fest 2025

Million Dollar Music Fest

May 25, 2025

On Sunday May 25th, country stars Midland, John Michael Montgomery & Tenille Townes will headline The Cowboy Bar’s 6th Annual Million Dollar Music Fest in the heart of downtown Jackson Hole on The Wyoming Whiskey Stage on Town Square.

Midland will make a triumphant return to the Million Dollar Music Fest and the town of their roots. The multi-platinum, GRAMMY-nominated trio will bring their neotraditional blend of toe-tapping honkytonk and genre-bending country to Town Square for their first Jackson Hole appearance in three years. Making his Jackson Hole debut, John Michael Montgomery, another multi-platinum recording artist, with seven Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music awards, will bring his nineteen Top-5 hits, including seven #1’s to the Million Dollar Music Fest stage as part of his Road to Home Farewell Tour. Opening the show, fresh off her own sold-out headlining tour of Canada will be Tenille Townes, who made her Jackson debut at the 2024 Cowgirls at The Cowboy. Winner of two ACM awards and an astounding 15 Canadian Country Music Association Awards (including five times as Female Artist of the Year and one Entertainer of the Year), Townes will bring her country rock style that owes as much to Janis Joplin as Miranda Lambert. Cowboy Bar darling, Ashley Wineland will perform immediately following the show at the after-party inside The Cowboy Bar, beginning at 9 pm.
