For quicker access, take the 15-minute boat shuttle across the lake before beginning the hike. From the far shore, a series of switchbacks leads you 1.5 miles uphill to the viewpoint. While steep in sections, the effort is well worth the reward. At the top, you’ll be greeted with 180 degree views of Jenny Lake, the surrounding peaks, and the distant Gros Ventre Range. On a clear day, look carefully toward the horizon and you may spot the silhouette of the “Sleeping Indian” resting in the distance.
