A Day In The Tetons

Escape to a place where adventure and natural splendor meet to create an experience that will leave you forever transformed. Start your journey through Jackson Hole’s natural beauty with this one-day itinerary in Grand Teton National Park.

Your Morning in Jackson Hole

To start your journey, wake up refreshed in your own Jackson Hole sanctuary. Your room or suite at The Cloudveil is the perfect space to get away and get back to nature. Dreamt up and perfected by long-time Jackson locals, the custom wood and leather furnishings, fireplaces and mountain-inspired artwork by local artists marry the beauty of the destination with ultimate luxurious comfort.

After gathering your essentials for the day, trek down to the Bistro and partake in a fresh and inspired start. Enjoy the indoor/outdoor café setting as you savor fresh-baked pastries, custom coffees and hearty breakfast dishes. Hitting the road early? All of our goods are available to go.

As you head out of town, make a quick stop at Creekside Deli to pick up a picnic lunch for your afternoon adventures. Their quick service, housemade sandwiches and picnic snack options will give you the pick-me-up you need after exploring the park this afternoon. Grab a six pack of local brews for the end of the trail as well.

String Lake In Summer

An Ideal Day In Grand Teton National Park

Embark on an essential Jackson Hole experience, taking in the breeze as you wind along Jackson Hole’s Scenic Loop Drive, where the Tetons tower over the valley and wildlife abounds. Whether you choose to drive the Loop clockwise, or counter, close views of the Tetons and surrounding lakes will have you traveling through wonder with your camera at the ready. A few of our favorite locales include Jackson Lake, Schwabacher Landing, Mormon Row and the entirety of Moose-Wilson road. Pullouts dot the road and are perfect for spotting wildlife or nailing an idyllic shot of the range.

Make your way to Jenny Lake for the afternoon – a stunning alpine lake that reflects the Teton range. Take the ferry across the lake and make the trek into the Tetons with a hike to Hidden Falls. Enjoy the immense beauty of the forest and sound of the rushing falls as you make your way down through the sun-dappled treeline.

Emerge back onto Jenny lake for a quiet lunch in the woods or along the shoreline. Whether an early afternoon kayak, paddleboard rendezvous or simply a shady nap are on your itinerary, Jenny Lake offers an unmatched setting for your day. Take in the sun and the serenity as you get to know Jackson Hole from the water.

After spending a day in the mountains, make a stop for a much-deserved beer or glass of wine on the rooftop at Dornan’s before heading back into town. This family-owned and operated favorite local spot sits on the bank of the Snake River inside the boundaries of Grand Teton National Park, offering the perfect respite accompanied by sweeping views.

Summer Sunset at Snake River Overlook

A Night In Downtown Jackson

On your way back into Jackson, another iconic vista not to be missed is the Snake River Overlook for sunset. This is the perfect stop for budding photographers and experts alike, and offers a sweeping view of the Teton Range backlit by the setting sun. It’s the perfect way to bid adieu to an awe-inspiring day.

**Guide Note: Sunrise at Oxbow Bend is also a must-see, must-shoot during a visit, but you need to get up early to catch this shot.

Relax and reflect on the day over dinner at Bistro, serving up French-inspired cuisine with a stunning zinc bar and fresh oyster bar, or take your evening off-property to one of the many fabulous restaurants about town. Some of our favorites include Snake River Grill, featuring American-style dishes in a true Western ambiance, handmade italian dishes at Glorietta Trattoria, or Trio – serving seasonal specials to both locals and tourists alike in a relaxed atmosphere.

Maybe a dip in our restorative hot tub or pool is in order, before returning to the comfort of your luxurious room or suite for a well deserved night’s rest.
